Track Guides

  • Silverstone Track Guide

Silverstone is a circuit that rewards precision and patience more than outright aggression. While it might look open and flowing on paper, lap time here is all about committing to the right line early and managing momentum through the longer radius corners. Small mistakes tend to snowball, especially in damp or mixed conditions, so discipline and consistency are key.

In this guide, I’ll walk you through how to approach Silverstone in the wet, focusing on line choice, braking technique and how to adapt your driving style when grip is limited. Whether you’re racing or testing, understanding how the circuit evolves in changing conditions will help you unlock more confidence — and more speed.

  • Rowrah Track Guide

Get to grips with Rowrah through Niki Richardson’s detailed video track guide. From braking points, racing lines and key corners to throttle control and overtaking opportunities, each section is designed to help you understand the circuit and improve your lap time.

Watch full-speed laps in dry and wet conditions, study the finer details in slow motion, and follow Niki’s expert voice-over analysis to see how the track should be approached in changing levels of grip. Whether you are preparing for your first visit or looking for the final few tenths, this guide will help you arrive better prepared.

  • Clay Pigeon Track Guide

So Clay Pigeon is another track that I visited back in my early days where I raced at the televised Gulf Oil Superprix in 1990 racing with the likes of Dan Wheldon, Jenson Button and Ant Davidson. I was actually the youngest driver taking part in the entire event and to be honest, the track hasn’t changed at all! I do sometimes think the track could do with an extension somewhere as it’s such a short lap but, the track flows so well that maybe an extension would just spoil it a little? Anyhow, let’s crack on with a lap of Clay Pigeon Raceway!

  • Shenington Track Guide

Shenington is yet ANOTHER track that I raced back in the early 90’s, winning a Super One round there back in 93 and then winning a club meeting in one of my final races…from 28th on the grid! Now on paper it looks very simple but actually, it’s not so easy because EVERY corner is key and it’s so easy to make a mistake and carry too much speed into one of these key corners.

  • Whilton Mill Track Guide

So bizarrely, Whilton Mill is a track that I’ve never actually raced on (apart from a few cooperate events) but I would say with Whilton being our second home after Buckmore Park, I must have done thousands upon thousands of laps around there so I certainly know a trick or two! What I will say about Whilton though, is that it’s a tricky track with a lack of surface grip which means getting a consistent run of laps together can be really difficult although there are at least 4 really decent overtaking spots which great racing!

  • Glan-Y-Gors Track Guide

Glan Y-Gors is a bit of an unknown quantity compared to other tracks we visit as we don’t race there as much as we do with Buckmore, Whilton and Rye etc. The first half of the lap is very quick and very similar to the Spa kart circuit and the second half of the lap is very twisty which is where the time can be won or lost. One thing I will say is though, I doubt you’ll get one single driver complain about this seriously awesome track even if overtaking can be slightly difficult!
