About Niki

For nearly two decades, Niki Richardson has been a cornerstone of Club100 Racing weekends, known for his calm demeanor, meticulous kart testing, and exceptional coaching. Fondly referred to as the go-to “Let’s get Niki in it” kart tester, he has earned admiration for his unmatched kart control and sound racing advice.

Named after the legendary Niki Lauda, with helmet colors paying homage to Gilles Villeneuve, Niki’s own journey is steeped in the golden era of British motorsport in the late 1980s and 1990s. His early karting days saw guidance from the late Dan Wheldon, two-time Indy500 champion, and his career quickly accelerated.

By 1991, Niki was a works driver in the Super One Cadet Championship, sharing the podium with names like Jenson Button and Anthony Davidson. He claimed multiple titles, including the British Cadet O Plate and Southern Area Champion, and even coached young royals, Princes William and Harry.

In 1994, Niki dominated the British Super One Championship, beating future F1 stars Lewis Hamilton and Paul di Resta. Despite his stellar achievements, the path to Formula 1 proved elusive, yet Niki remains a passionate motorsport enthusiast and mentor, dedicated to sharing his knowledge and inspiring the next generation of racers.
